NEWS GAME POKEMON GO HAVE IN ALL LOCATION

For years the Pokemon series of games has seen players making their way through locations either set in or based on real locations around the world. Now for the first time a new game will let you literally catch Pokemon in your own backyard, at least if you’re lucky enough to find one there.
Nintendo, The Pokemon Company, and Ingress developer Niantic announced the new game, titled Pokemon GO, at a press conference in Tokyo today. The game combines the real-world location scouting of Ingress with the “gotta catch ‘em all” mentality that has been part of Pokemon games since the beginning.

“Pokemon GO is a wonderful combination of Niantic’s real-world gaming platform and one of the most beloved franchises in popular culture,” Niantic CEO John Hanke said in a statement. “Our partnership with The Pokémon Company and Nintendo is an exciting step forward in real-world gaming and using technology to help players discover the world and people around them.”

The game will be released for iOS and Android devices, but a device called the Pokemon GO Plus will let players find and capture Pokemon even when they’re away from their phones. Essentially a very basic smartwatch, this device connects via Bluetooth and will flash and vibrate when virtual Pokemon are nearby.

The actual game hasn’t been seen in action by many so far. Instead, the Pokemon Company released the trailer seen above, giving an idea of what players will be doing as they capture Pokemon in the real world. If it were any other series, we’d be skeptical, but given how popular this series is, Pokemon GO has a good chance of taking off.

“Our challenge was to develop a great game for smartphone devices that expressed the core values of Pokemon,” CEO of The Pokemon Company Tsunekazu Ishihara said. “Pokemon GO is the answer to that challenge.”
Pokemon GO will be released in 2016 via the App Store and Google Play, and will be free to play with various microtransactions built in. No price has been announced for the Pokemon GO Plus accessory so far, but we aren’t expecting it to be too expensive.

7 Ways to Treat and Prevent Blisters During Sandal Season

Summer's in full swing, so your sandals are probably a regular part of your footwear rotation—if you haven't succumbed to blisters, that is. To get your feet back into sandal-ready shape, we asked podiatrists for expert recommendations on treating blisters—and how to prevent them from ravaging your feet in the future.

Got a new pair of kicks? Think twice about wearing them for your 9-to-5 the first time you put them on your feet. “I would suggest wearing sandals around the house every day for a least a week before I head out in them for an entire day,” says Hilary Brenner, DPM, a New York City-based podiatrist.

Shop smart

Brenner recommends looking for problem areas while you're shopping. “When buying sandals, make sure the straps don't rub over bony prominences," Brenner says. "Also make sure the straps are a soft material, which causes less friction—hence less blisters.”

Treat them right

When blisters do strike, treatment is key. “I would suggest soaking your feet in Epsom salt and warm water for 20 minutes two to three times a week," Brenner says. "This will help with swelling, which in turn will decrease friction. Then apply bacitracin and a compressive dressing such as gauze pads and an ace bandage."

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

The cause of blisters is mostly due to friction, which can occur more often when feet are dry. Brenner recommends moisturizing the feet as much as possible with Shea butter. A couple options: L'Occitane Certified Organic Pure Shea Butter ($42; usa.loccitane.com) and Tree Hut Brazilian Nut Shea Body Butter ($8; drugstore.com).  

Don’t try to pop it

Do not lance your own blister, says Grace Torres-Hodges, DPM, a Pensacola, Fla.-based podiatrist. "This creates an entry point for infection. The blister is a natural Band-Aid so I tell patients to leave it and allow it to resolve naturally."

Stock your medicine cabinet

When blisters strike, you won't want to have to walk to the drugstore with them rubbing against your shoes (ouch!). Stock your medicine cabinet with Band-Aid Advanced Healing Blister Cushions ($7; walgreens.com), says Brenner; Torres-Hodges prefers Spenco 2nd Skin Blister Pads ($9; amazon.com). These waterproof cushioned pads protect the blister and relieve pain. If your feet always tend to blister in the same spot, you could also wear these as a preventive measure.

Prevention is the best medicine

If you have a pair of shoes that gives you blisters no matter what you do, your best bet is to just stop wearing them. But if you can't bear to say goodbye just yet, protect your feet with moleskin, like Dr. Scholl's Moleskin Plus Padding Strips ($5; walgreens.com), suggests Brenner.

Samsung's new Gear IconX earbuds are a cordless wonder. Too bad they only work with Android devices.

Samsung showed off its first-ever cord-free earbuds Thursday, extending its line of wearable fitness gadgets.
The Gear IconX has built-in heart rate and distance monitoring that works by using an optical sensor and accelerometer.
The earbuds can play music with or without a phone, and they can take calls when paired with a phone by acting as a Bluetooth headset. They have 4 GB of internal storage and can stream Spotify, Google Music and Pandora (P) through a Bluetooth-connected smartphone. There's also a cool ambient sound feature that lets outside noise blend in with the audio.
I spent a little time wearing them and found the earbuds to be very comfortable and secure. I ran on a treadmill at about 6 mph for two minutes and they felt securely tucked in my ear -- after I found right size plugs. (One of the earbuds fell out about halfway through on my first attempt.)
The sound quality is rich and full, and volume and menu options are accessed through touch control.
The Gear IconX earbuds come in a charging case that can hold two additional full charges. Samsung says battery life should run around one and a half hours if the earbuds are paired to a phone and three hours if they're not.
Still, cords and wires at least make it easier to find headphones in a bag, and if you lose one of these earbuds, you'll have to buy a whole new set.I stopped listening to music at the gym last year after I crushed my iPhone between the pedals of an elliptical machine. Luckily, only the charging port was dented, but it was enough for me to understand that cords and swinging arms don't mix.
Samsung also introduced an update of its Gear Fit activity tracker Thursday.
The Gear Fit2 now has GPS, a much wider screen that displays text vertically and a curvier shape for better fit. The Gear Fit2 also comes in a smaller size.
Like the Gear IconX, the new Fit has 4 GB of storage and Spotify is built in to play play music without a phone. The Gear Fit2 is also waterproof for up to half an hour.
